Event: Capturing Catalina 2008

I attended Canon's Capturing Catalina workshop on Saturday with Bordi. It was informative and long. I think I now realize what every button does on my camera, but still ironing out the 'How To' kinks. These shots are of me learning to use AI Servo, focusing manually, changing the white balance, and finding patterns (not all reflected, but below are some that might be interesting to look at):

Event: Sherry's Baby Shower

Sherry is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and anyone who knows her loves her to pieces. So it was only appropriate that Jefflyn, Gloria and myself gave her a little baby shower to welcome her little baby girl, "Sherony" (Tony + Sherry).

Event: Kristen Schmelter's Graduation

I purchased the new Canon Rebel XSI last week (some would say with an irrational urgency). I needed to shoot a Graduation and Family Reunion and what better weekend to get my feet wet?! But much to my dismay the settings on the camera weren't as wingable as I had originally thought and I took pics like the amateur I am. But here are some of my favorite from the weekend (in their original state) so be kind.

Kristin Schmelter's Graduation Ceremony from Channel Islands:

I will photoshop this (consider it the before of the after). Kristen Schmelter Sociology

Bobby D. Schmelter (Proud Pops) and Jared Schmelter (Middle Child)

Cindy Schmelter (Proud Mother) even cute when she's eating

Brian Goethel (Special K's fav cousin). I'll send this one to him for his MySpace

Her supportive and, um, hungry boyfriend Jeff

Here I developed lens envy

Great candid shot of the Schmelter Clan conversing in their natural habitat

My very own Maverick

Pa Corsini gave it up for the paparazzi

Congrats Kristen on being the first Schmelter kid to get your Bachelors and graduating Cum Laude! Oh and on officially having the loudest props in the whole house. Woop woop!

One of the proudest moments for two parents

This was the best shot of the day, isn't she beautiful?!

Congratulations Class of 2008!
